Kids Bike Brand Guide

Founded: 2013, by Jerry & Shelley Lawson

HQ: Pontypool, South Wales, UK

USP: Science-backed, award-winning bikes engineered for children

Born out of a parent’s frustration and a passion for better cycling, Frog Bikes was founded by Jerry and Shelley Lawson after struggling to find lightweight, high-quality bikes for their own children. Leaving behind corporate careers, they launched Frog Bikes in 2013 with one goal: to make riding easier and more fun for kids.

Every Frog bike is designed with input from Brunel University sports scientists and a Team GB Olympic bike designer, ensuring child-specific geometry, weight balance, and comfort. With frames manufactured in their award-winning Welsh factory, Frog has earned global recognition — including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and Manufacturer of the Year at the Made in the UK Awards.

From balance bikes to hybrid and road bikes, Frog offers a full range of lightweight, performance-driven models that make learning to ride easier than ever.

Founded: 2013, by Christian Bezdeka & Marcus Ihlenfeld

HQ: Klosterneuburg, Austria

USP: Ultra-light, precision-engineered bikes loved across Europe & the US

Woom began life in a Vienna garage, where two bike-obsessed dads — Christian (a biomedical technician and bike designer) and Marcus (a former automotive marketer) — set out to build the perfect kids bike. When they couldn’t find the right data to base their designs on, they made their own — resulting in a bike brand that fits children’s bodies and riding styles with unmatched precision.

Today, Woom is a market leader in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, with a growing presence in the USA and beyond. Their bikes are some of the lightest in the world, and every component is thoughtfully engineered for children — from frame geometry to brake reach and saddle comfort.

Founded: 2017

HQ: Birmingham, UK

USP: Lightweight, easy-to-ride bikes made for fun

Squish bikes were created with one goal: to make cycling easier and more enjoyable for kids from day one. Tired of heavy, oversized bikes that held kids back, the Squish team designed their range around triple-butted lightweight alloy frames, with components chosen specifically for smaller hands and legs.

Every Squish model is proportioned with care — shorter cranks, narrower handlebars, and junior-specific brakes give young riders the confidence to ride further, faster, and with more joy. Built and developed in the UK, Squish is now a trusted name among parents looking for excellent value and serious performance.
